TakeIt (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a personal medication management application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use TakeIt on iOS and Web.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your display name. This information is used solely to identify your account and sync your data across devices.

b) Medication Data

We store the medications you add, including their names, dosages, schedules, and adherence history. This data is stored securely in your account and is never sold or shared with third parties.

c) Profile Information (Optional)

You may optionally provide your year of birth, gender, country of residence, and a profile picture. This information is used to personalize your experience and comply with region-specific regulations.

d) Camera & Photo Library

If you use the Prescription Scanner feature, TakeIt requests access to your device camera or photo library solely to capture or select an image of your prescription. All text extraction (OCR) is performed securely. The prescription images are never used for advertising.

e) Notification Data

We request permission to send you local and push notifications to remind you to take your medications. We do not collect or transmit notification data to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain core app functionality (medication tracking and reminders)
• To sync your medication data securely across your devices
• To personalize your experience based on your preferences and settings
• To comply with applicable laws and regional regulations

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sell it to any third party.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account and medication data is stored using Google Firebase, a secure cloud platform. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We apply commercially reasonable security measures to protect your personal information.

Local app preferences and settings are stored on your device only.

4. Third-Party Services

TakeIt uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore) — for account management and secure cloud storage. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

We do not integrate any advertising networks or analytics SDKs.

5. Children's Privacy

TakeIt is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your country of residence, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your personal data
• Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app settings.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of TakeIt after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
